My Success in Scientology

In 1979 I was working on a trawler, a big one that kept me at sea for 6 weeks at a time, with a four day break in between trips. I had to stay at sea, ashore I suffered from very bad asthma, unless I was drunk. So ashore I would drink until I ran out of money and then the asthma would start. It was not a very pleasant life, and I was very lonely and unhappy. Doctors could not give me a sensible answer when I asked them why I had asthma, or why their drugs did not work on me, or made me feel sick.

Then in 1980, I read a book called Dianetics: The Modern Science of Mental Health. For the first time something made sense. I then did the Purification Rundown at Saint Hill, and that handled my alcohol problem (I was by then drinking 2 bottles of vodka in one night). I discovered that by running my asthma would not be so bad, so this was not such a problem for me anymore. Then in 1984, I had some auditing and attested to the state of “Clear.” The asthma disappeared almost totally at that point. Sort of an incidental bonus, if you like. Shortly after that I got married.

Looking back on that period of my life I can see just how much Scientology has done for me. I don’t think I would have survived for many more years the way I was going — many of my friends of that time didn’t. Now I live in a nice house with my beautiful wife and wonderful child. Tomorrow I will go sailing in my yacht - which some people say I love more than anything else. (joke)

Without Scientology and L. Ron Hubbard I would have none of this. I have no hesitation in recommending it to anybody. Scientology really does work!
