I’d like to tell you a little bit about the successes I’ve had using Scientology principles in my life.
To begin with, I learned of Dianetics and Scientology in the mid-seventies, when drug abuse in our society was kicking into high gear. Because of the techniques and education concerning drugs and alcohol that I learned through Scientology, I was able to separate from a group of people I actually grew up with who were heavy users of drugs and alcohol, and I have not touched an illegal drug for over twenty years.
As for alcohol, (although I don’t avoid it) I find that most of the time I’m happier without it, and when I do drink, it is in moderation. I simply am happier without any help from drugs or alcohol.
Concerning education, although I was a pretty good student in high school I only went to college for a single semester , and I quit before I finished even that! However, at the age of 36 I was forced on to disability and found myself with no skills to speak of and no education that made me marketable. Fortunately, there is a whole body of work in Scientology concerning education and communication. After completing several courses in this area, I went back to college. Amazingly, I kept getting “A” after “A” in each class. There was a running joke around the house that “my first ’B’ is really gonna stink.” That first “B” never did come, and I now find myself in the position of graduating in July of this year summa cum laude in the field of Computer Science/Information Systems with a GPA of 4.0! Not bad for a college drop out.
On more day to day issues, the value of the communications courses and certain types of counseling I’ve received have allowed me to handle situations in life with ease that, in the past, I could never handle effectively. Only two years ago I seemed stalled in my career as a computer professional, and I couldn’t understand why. But after being counseled using Scientology data, I was promoted within weeks of completing the action, and in fact have doubled my salary in less than two years!
Even more importantly, though, is the fact that through Scientology, I KNOW that I am a spiritual being, and that life can be improved by realization of this fact alone. I am a Catholic, and have always believed in the spiritual side of life, but as a Catholic, it was a matter of FAITH whether or not I existed as a soul or as just a body. With Scientology, I have found that it is a matter of FACT, not faith, and that realization was a great relief to me.
I use Scientology principles daily in my life, from the laws of communication to the techniques of assists ( which are used to help the sick feel better and heal more quickly), and I can say without a doubt that, no matter what level of Scientology experience you have, your life will run smoother if you really use it.
