ello, my name is Dennis Chick, and here is a little bit about myself:

     I am 46 years old, and a native of Washington, DC. I have been happily married for 17 years, and have a 15 year-old son and a 9-year old daughter, both great kids. Kathy, my wife, has had a distinguished career in nursing. Matthew is becoming a very accomplished saxophone player. And Amanda, my baby, is incredibly bright and reads at a 12th grade level according to actual tests.

     Professionally, I work for Bell Atlantic as a Customer Service Center Specialist, which is a fancy title for a computer help desk specialist. I serve five hundred clients in a Windows NT LAN/WAN environment. I have a certificate in computer programming and will graduate this year with a degree in Computer Science/Information Systems.

     I have been an athlete all my life, and officiate football on the men’s and Boys and Girls Club level in the entire DC area. I love Chess, surfing the Net, and reading murder mysteries. I’m currently reading “Cat and Mouse” by James Patterson.

     I’ve been a Scientologist for over 20 years, and it has been a great influence in my life. It gives one a great deal of confidence, because it imparts knowledge about life and why others do the things they do. This allows a great deal of prediction, since in a given situation if you are able to identify the type of individual, you can predict probable behavior.

      But more importantly (for me at least), it allows you to understand people better, and thus tolerate their actions, since you know why people do certain things.Instead of putting blame or assuming evil intentions in someone’s motivation (unless, of course, your understanding of the person shows that he does indeed have evil intentions, and so is someone to avoid or at least keep an eye on).
