ello, my name is Dave Murdock D.C., and here is a little bit about myself:
I am a 39 year old Doctor of Chiropractic from Fort Wayne, Indiana who graduated from Purdue University and Palmer College of Chiropractic magna cum laude in 1984. I first heard about Scientology while I was attending Palmer College. At the time I was helping a doctor, Burl Pettibon D.C., teach Spinal Biomechanics continuing education classes at the college. A group of us were having dinner and he remarked that a lot of the chiropractic management firms got their management data directly from L. Ron Hubbard. I just said, Hmm, thats interesting. and thats as far as it went. Later I read the book Dianetics and postulated that I wanted to be clear (to no longer have a reactive mind* affecting me).
When I graduated I interned with a doctor in Peoria, Illinois. As I arrived there I looked across the street and there was the Peoria Dianetics Center. I went across the street and George Seidler gave me my first Dianetics session (for free!) I had an amazing session that just gave me a tremendous amount of relief and I signed up and did the Overcoming the Ups and Downs in Life Course. Ive been taking courses ever since.
I moved to my home town, Fort Wayne, Indiana and set up my practice and practiced there for ten years. Every weekend I drove to Chicago (it had the closest academy at the time) to take courses. I recently moved to Chicago to train full time to be a Scientology Auditor (one who listens, a Scientology counselor). Once you get the big idea of what Scientology can do, it just doesnt make any sense to not learn and apply
it. *reactive mind: that portion of a person's mind which works on a totally stimulus-response basis, which is not under his volitional control and which exerts force and the power of command over his awareness, purposes, thoughts, body and actions.
